New York Fries in Hong Kong

The AB and I were shopping at Harbour City, the mega mall located in Tsim Sha Tsui when we were enticed into New York Fries, by the smells of freshly cooked fries.

The fries are served on their own or with a choice of toppings served in a large paper cup.  We went for one called "The Works" which comprised chopped bacon, sour cream and chives.  The hand cut fries are cooked to order, so were served piping hot.   The result was perfection - freshly cooked fries that are crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside.

The topping was incredibly moreish and made a change from the usual ketchup, salt and vinegar I usually cover my potatoes with.   I just wish I'd had the chance to try the Poutine topping, originating from Quebec consisting of cheese curd topped with beef gravy.

And if you're a traditionalist when it comes to chips or fries, there's also a station with the usual condiments including plain old ketchup, as well as some more unconventional accompaniments including jalapenos and Tabasco sauce.
