Where I like to stay in Hong Kong

Night markets in Mong Kok
For the last few years, I've stayed in the same hotel in Hong Kong.   The Langham Place Hotel, 42-storey, five star hotel located in Mong Kok on Kowloon, with magnificient backdrop of Victoria Harbour.

The hotel is located in area known for it's lively night markets and ahem...red light district, so it's not the area where tourist traditionally stay when visiting Hong Kong, but then that's what's so great about it.  Mong Kok, is what Old Street is to London and the Meat Packing District is to New York, with it's cool independent boutiques, but minus the hip restaurants and bars.   It's a little rough around the edges in parts, but it's right in the heart of the hustle and bustle of real Hong Kong with its vibrant markets and busy street food stalls where the locals shop.

If that's not enough to convince you to stay here, and you're a hard core foodie, Langham Place Hotel is now home to Ming Court - which this year earned itself two Michelin Stars.  It also has an open air roof top pool and spa, which is a great place to unwind after a day of sightseeing.

Top tip:  Book in advance via the website for best deals on stays at the hotel
