AFL & Meat Pies

MCG (Melbourne Cricket Ground)
When I was in Melbourne I was lucky enough to be taken to see an AFL (Australian Football League) game and watch the AB's favourite team - Hawthorn Hawks.   This was also where I tried my first Four 'N' Twenty pie.  I slathered my 'meat pie' in ketchup, and although it was warm and tasted great with my beer, none of those things could disguise the fact that I was eating low grade meat.  My top tip if you're going to eat one is don't read the ingredients list and the more ketchup the better.  You may be wondering where is the picture of this AFL staple, but it's not something  I wanted to document and I tried far better qualities of pies during my trip to Oz, including a service station of all places.

about this team , I can say that Most of this widespread support can be accredited to the club's success in the 1970s and 1980s as the club successfully nurtured talent in its home ‘zones’ – primarily in the South and East of Victoria
